Celebrating Betoota, a new Lyn Barnes Exhibition to open at Graydon Gallery.

Betoota – The Exhibition
Graydon Gallery, New Farm

Opening night:  6pm Wednesday 8 August 2018

Exhibition dates: 6 – 12 August 2018

New Farm, Brisbane – A new exhibition of work by Lyn Barnes at Graydon Gallery presents a collection of all things Betoota.

Betoota – The Exhibition on show from the 6 August until 12 August, explores the landscapes and architecture of outback Queensland with the perception of noted Quilpie based outback artist Lyn Barnes.

Opening night is on 8 August at Graydon Gallery and this year the theme is Betoota with all works being of the Betoota landscape and the delightful, sometimes odd architectural form.

Ms Barnes said: “Life in the outback is made up of unique and special experiences. I love being able to share those experiences through my art with the city”.

“With the Betoota Races and the reopening of the iconic Betoota Hotel fast approaching as well as Polo in the Outback happening soon at Quilpie, it is a pleasure to capture elements of outback activity and make them accessible to people in Brisbane”.

Each year during the Brisbane Ekka, Lyn’s work provides a visual voice for the people of the outback – and connects art lovers from Queensland’s south east with the lives of those in the state’s far south west.

Lyn Barnes began painting over twenty years ago and her work is held in both private and corporate collections in Australia and overseas. Betoota – The Exhibition is on display at Graydon Gallery, 29 Merthyr Road, New Farm until 12 August.
